As the old saying goes "you can't buy happiness, but you can buy a bicycle and that's pretty close". Recently I had opportunity to help out one of my friend, Paul, who wanted to gift his son, Ryan, a bicycle.
Ryan is 7 year of kid, studying in 1st grade. Many times when parents buy a cycle for kids, they go for the gearless one, thinking that is enough for them. But my viewpoint is that you should buy you kid a geared cycle, because ride quality and experience is great. Also you want your kid to enjoy cycling and make it as a lifestyle instead of just twiddling around.
Below is the comprehensive review to the Cycle. The cycle is from 91 Cycles
Frame: High tensile steel frame
Gears: 7x3 = 21 Speed Shimano Tourney
Brakes: Manual Disc
Wheels: Double wall rim
Seat: Height adjustable quick release seat post
Cable routing is internal, which is an added benefit, as kids won't be able to mess around with the cables.
Price: Rs 16,000/-
